BBQ-Festivals.com Gets A Makeover

Hello all you bbq fans. BBQ-Festivals.com has just undergone a makeover and has a whole new look. All the same features are still there but now it just looks better.

Over the next several months we will be adding a lot more to the site in the way of bbq information.
As the bbq season starts to wind down a little we are going to spend time adding to the site with the following features:
  • BBQ Sauce Reviews - we will start reviewing bbq sauces from around the world. Each sauce will be reviewed and highligted on our front page. As we get more reviews the top review will drop down until we have five sauce reviews on the opening page and then they will move to a bbq sauce archive page one at a time. If you would like to have your bbq sauce reviewed and highlighted on BBQ-Festivals.com just send us an email and we will contact you.
  • BBQ Restaurant Listings - currently we have bbq restaurants listed for 37 states. We want to have a more complete list with all 50 states being reviewed. If you are at a bbq restaurant and they are not on our site, be sure to send us an email with the restaurants name, address and website if they have one..... also include a short comment about your experience there.
  • BBQ Festival Listings - although we have one of the largest bbq festival listings on the net we don't have them all. We want them all. No matter how big or how small. If you know of a bbq festival or event that is not on our site we would like to know about it. Send us an email with the bbq festival name, location and date and website if they have one.
  • BBQ Competition Team Profiles - We are going to start profiling bbq competition teams. Basically what this will entail is a seperate page on our website with your bbq team's information on it. A write up about your team, your team logo, photos if you have them and best of all a place to list your winning tropheys. We will also include your schedule. We will be contacting each of you over the next couple of months to get your information. Of course there will be a link to your teams website.
  • Website Design Services - Does your restaurant, team, sauce or festival need a website? We can help. We understand website design (the owner of bbq-festivals.com is a full time website developer) and we can set you up with a website that is a perfect fit for you. Whether you want a basic information site or a fully developed e-commerce site we can help and best of all we won't break your budget.

So that is what is coming. If you have any suggestions on what you would like to see on the site be sure to let us know. After all this is a community site. It is all about you...........

Have a great day and enjoy that bbq............. eric

The Smoke Pit - Campbellsville KY

If you find yourself in the vicinity of Elizabethtown, Kentucky any time soon, you need to make time for a quick diversion to Campbellsville KY for some top notch BBQ. The place is called "The Smoke Pit" at 1800 New Lebanon Rd and believe me when I say they have some very very good bbq. I was turned on to The Smoke Pit this weekend while attending a wedding by my good friend Ron Levi of Innuendo Foods LLC. He had been there before and after the wedding he looked at me and said "let's get out of here." We left the reception and went strait to The Smoke Pit. He had told me about this place from his last visit but I had never made it there.

WOW.... I ordered a Beef Brisket Plate with potato salad, cole slaw and a home made bun. It was really very very good. They had several sauces all made in house from spicy to sweet and smokey that added to the already excellent flavor. The prices are great and the atmosphere is pure small town Kentucky. Hopefully I will have some photos soon. The menu includes everything from Pulled Pork (a KY specialty) to sliced shoulder, beef brisket, tenderloin, chicken and of course baby back ribs. Prices are very reasonable.......... the most expensive thing on the menu is a full rack of ribs with 2 sides, a drink and a bun for only $20.00.

One of the girls that was working said they will be moving to a new location in the near future so if you are in Campbellsville give them a call at 270-789-6686. You won't regret it.

From Elizabethtown KY, Campbellsville is about 35 miles but well worth the drive. You can stop and visit Abraham Lincolns birthplace along the way.
